Attractions maps

The Côte d'Azur is a beautiful region that can be visited most of the year due to its mild climate. It’s home to many treasures, both along the coast and in the countryside. Depending on what you’re looking for, you’ll not be short of things to do.
If nature is more your thing, hiking in the Esterel massif will offer you incredible views of the bay of Cannes and the Lerins Islands. Canoeing in the Gorges du Verdon is worthwhile and then there’s the Mercantour National Park, an exceptional natural site with lakes and valleys where in winter you can hit the ski slopes.
Are the Côte d'Azur beaches more what you’re looking for? Great choice! Along the coast, you can bask on the many sand and pebble beaches, some of which are family-friendly, some of which are a little more off the beaten track and therefore a little wilder. There are so many to choose from, but rest assured we can help you choose with our list of the most beautiful..
Do you dream of stars and sequins? In which case, take a trip to Saint-Tropez where many celebrities come to spend their holidays unless, of course, you prefer Cannes and its famous film festival.
One of the other attractions of the "French Riviera" is its beautiful hilltop villages with cobbled streets. These include Eze, with its ramparts and exotic garden, Saint-Paul-de-Vence and its many art galleries and Gourdon with its exceptional view.
Maybe now you’ll understand why we say there’s so much to see and do on the Côte d'Azur.

Routes and distances maps

The Côte d'Azur is a dream destination for many holidaymakers. Whether it’s for a long weekend or for a few weeks, the region offers an impressive and varied range of sites to visit: Cannes and its Croisette promenade, Saint-Paul-de-Vence and its art galleries, Saint-Tropez and its celebrities and for those who prefer a spot of nature, there’s canoeing in the Gorges du Verdon, hiking amongst the red rocks of the Esterel mountains or cycling in the Mercantour National Park.
When travelling around the Côte d'Azur, car is a good way to visit the surrounding countryside and the beaches along the coast. If you’re not in a hurry, you can discover the region at your own pace. But beware, during the summer, driving can quickly become unbearable with very heavy traffic and paid parking everywhere. Adapt your itinerary by leaving very early in the morning to avoid the traffic jams. To move between Nice and Cannes, it normally takes a little more than half an hour to travel the 34 km between the two cities. Allow double the time during the months of July and August. By train, whether in high season or low season, there are no nasty surprises and the journey time remains a respectable 25 minutes, which can be a good way to visit the two cities. To avoid heavy traffic and weave quickly through the streets, a scooter is also a good way to discover the region.
