Plan an amazing trip to Barbados

If you dream of the exotic, of idyllic islands, palm trees, fine sand beaches and turquoise waters, Barbados was made for you. Located between the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, this is a tiny island, barely 20 miles long 15 miles wide.
To the west of the other Caribbean Islands, and a little isolated, its geographic position prevents it from being struck by violent hurricanes. Its official language is English and it is a member of the Commonwealth.
The unique quality of the island is its Caribbean way of life mixed with the British culture which has marked the island through centuries of settlement and sugar cane plantations.
Here you have the choice between the sublime beaches of the west coast, luxury hotels and trendy bars or the wilder east coast looking across the turbulent Atlantic waves which crash against the black rocks. It’s a surfer’s paradise and diving to the coral reef reveals the stunning marine life.
Bridgetown, the capital, will charm you with its Britishness, colonial era houses, the historic city centre and the UNESCO listed garrison. Don’t hesitate to visit the traditional villages fishing villages such as Oistins, where grilled fish is served to visitors in a warm and welcoming environment. You can sample the area’s speciality, flying fish or settle in one of the country’s rum shops - colourful small cabins where rum is sold.
