When to go to Madagascar?
Madagascar has a tropical climate. Winter is cold and dry whereas summer is hot and wet. As a general rule, it is hotter along the coasts than it is at height in the central highlands. In summer, the highest temperature comes close to 35°C, whereas in winter this can drop down to 5°C in some of the central regions. Madagascar experiences a rain season which stretches from November to April. The strongest rainfall occurs in the east of the country, where rain is pervasive even outside of the rainy seasons. Rain is more uncommon in the south which experiences a semi-arid climate.
